About Alrigs

Technology repair built around honesty, skill, and direct communication

Alrigs is an independently owned technology repair and support business operated by Alex Marcum. It was created to give customers dependable technical help without confusing explanations, unnecessary repairs, or pressure to buy services they do not need.

How it started

My interest in computers began when I was young. I started taking computers apart, learning how their components worked, and figuring out why devices failed. What began as curiosity grew into more than a decade of hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, configuring, and maintaining technology.

Over the years, I have worked with desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, game consoles, home networks, servers, storage systems, operating systems, electronics, and custom technology projects. I have learned through direct experience, independent study, formal coursework, and the kind of stubborn troubleshooting that refuses to let a strange problem win.

Experience

A broad technical background

My experience includes computer hardware replacement, system diagnostics, operating-system troubleshooting, malware cleanup, performance upgrades, networking, data backup, soldering, electronics evaluation, server administration, WordPress, Docker, Synology systems, Linux, Windows, cybersecurity, and technology automation.

Alongside that hands-on experience, I earned an Associate of Science in Information Technology from Full Sail University and am continuing my education in Cybersecurity. That combination helps me look beyond the obvious symptom. A repair is not only about replacing a part. It is also about understanding why the failure happened, protecting the customer’s information, and choosing a solution that makes practical and financial sense.

Why Alrigs is different

You speak directly with the person doing the work

Alrigs is not a large chain where a device is passed between a front counter, a call center, and several technicians. When you contact Alrigs, you communicate directly with me. I review the request, evaluate the device, explain the findings, and perform the approved work.

That direct approach creates clearer communication and more accountability. It also means I can explain the problem in normal language rather than hiding behind a cloud of technical terms.

Honest evaluation

I consider the age, condition, value, repair cost, and expected lifespan of a device before recommending work.

Clear communication

You receive realistic expectations and understandable explanations about the problem and available options.

Practical solutions

The goal is to solve the real problem, not to sell the largest repair or replace parts without evidence.

The Alrigs approach

Tech Repair Done Right.

Every repair begins by listening to the customer and understanding what the device is actually doing. From there, I work to identify the cause, explain the options, and help the customer make an informed decision.

If a repair is worthwhile, I will explain the expected work. If replacing the device is the smarter financial choice, I will say that too. The goal is not simply to replace parts. The goal is to provide a dependable solution and earn trust through the quality of the work.
